Wednesday November 4th 3:00pm-5:00pm Spiritual Center
This event will feature a panel discussion with asylum-speakers from Ethiopia, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe. All three are clients of the DC-based nonprofit organization Torture, Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition (TASSC) International, the only organization in the United States offering direct services to survivors of politically-motivated torture seeking asylum in the US. Andrea Barron, TASSC’s Advocacy Officer, will also discuss the advocacy process and how students can become advocates for human rights.
