Boren Awards provide up to
- $30,000 for US graduate students
- $20,000 for US undergraduate students

Boren Awards, sponsored by the National Security Education Program at the U.S. Department of Defense, provide funding for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study critical languages in Africa, Asia, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Boren Scholars and Fellows commit to working in public service for at least one year after graduation in positions critical to U.S. national security throughout the federal government. Undergraduates are eligible to receive up to $20,000 in funding.
