Middle Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies (MACLAS) Conference – Free for Students!

Middle Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies (MACLAS) Conference – Free for Students!

FREE conference for HSS Students! Middle Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies (MACLAS) Conference: Privilege, Power & Pedagogy  on March 18-19, 2022 at TCNJ

For more than 500 years, waves of migration from Africa, Europe, and Asia combined with vibrant indigenous societies to make Latin America the most socially and culturally diverse region in the world. Yet the region is arguably the most socially unequal, as political-economic institutions and state violence have stratified societies along racial, ethnic, class, and gender lines.  This year’s MACLAS conference seeks to deepen and enrich our understanding of Latin American history and culture and the region’s manifold expressions and contradictions of power, privilege, and education. View the conference program here: https://maclas2022.exordo.com/programme/at-a-glance

HSS students are invited to attend this year’s MACLAS conference at TCNJ on March 18 and 19. Dean Wong has graciously offered to reimburse students’ registration fees. Visit maclas2022.exordo.com to register for the conference. Register with the student code DBE0D1, for $100 for two days or $60 for one day.

Students should complete the student travel request here: https://hss.tcnj.edu/student-travel/ (but not the emergency contact form or the waiver form) and email the form along with the payment receipt to Ms. Maratea at maratea@tcnj.edu, who will process your reimbursement.

Contact Professor Potter (potter@tcnj.edu) if you have questions.
